The initiative arose from the urgent need to address the alarming rate of femicides in Argentina, where a woman is murdered simply for being a woman every 30 hours. Originally called for by a group of journalists, activists, and artists, the movement rapidly expanded as it resonated with society, transforming into a collective campaign. Ni Una Menos gained the support of thousands of individuals and hundreds of organizations across the country, including schools and activists from various political parties. The immediate demand for change pushed Ni Una Menos to the forefront of public and political discourse.

On June 3, 2015, Plaza del Congreso in Buenos Aires and public squares throughout Argentina echoed with a multitude of voices, identities, and banners. This powerful display underscored that Ni Una Menos signifies not an end but the beginning of a new journey towards justice and equality.
